Plastics Recycling

It is an unfortunate fact that we do break lots of 19 litre bottles. Once they’ve got more than one hole in they are scrap and luckily the plastics businesses are crying out for scrap polycarbonate.

Contacting Bronte Water in Times of Need

Tags: , , , , , , |

Well Monday was not a good day in the Bronte Water Office. We suffered a full day powercut which lasted until 8.00pm. It certainly taught us a how dependent we are on electricity. A day with no telephones, no internet, no server so no computers.

We Just Love Being on TV!

In 1997 Skelthwaite village (real name Slaithwaite) was the setting for the TV drama ‘Where The Heart Is’ and was the first time that a Bronte Water Cooler was seen on television when it was used as a prop in the Goddards Paper Disposables office. The Sunday night drama starred Sarah Lancashire, Pam Ferris, Thomas Craig, Tony Haygarth and Leslie Ash. Behind the scenes, other working models were replenishing the thirst of the TV stars and backroom staff alike with chilled Bronte Spring Water. Somebody there must have liked us there as a short time later we got a call from the crew of ‘Shameless’ when they started to film the series in Manchester. The Bronte Spring was developed in 1992 at a time when drinking bottled water was classed as a luxury that only the pretentious and rich could afford. Certainly water coolers were only ever seen on the occasional American movie and then they were refillable glass bottles perched on top of a box the size of

Why Am I Always Thirsty?

Tags: , , |

Doctors often refer to abnormal thirst as 'polydipsia'. Thirst is the brain's warning mechanism that you're dehydrated because your body doesn’t have enough fluids. You should be able to quench your thirst and restore the fluid balance in your body after having a glass or two of water. But if you feel like you drink

What else can you do with chilled filtered mains water?

Tags: , , , , , , |

So you thought you were spending too much money on bottled spring water and went ahead and installed a mains fed water cooler. There may be cost savings for sure, but that is only one of the benefits of having your drinking water delivered by pipework.

Chlorine in tap water – friend or foe?

Tags: , , , |

We take our tap water for granted don’t we?  Rain falls from the sky and fills our reservoirs. In turn they feed our dirty brown water to the treatment plant where a lot of science and a little bit of magic turns it into clear and clean potable (drinkable) water. Of course the problem now is how to get it to your tap. This is achieved by
