Some of our readers may know that we were collecting and storing a massive amount of our used bottle caps because we just couldn’t bare to send them to landfill! So, as explained in our previous blog post, we did a shout-out on our social media accounts to our online network and ask if anyone could recommend a good place that may be able to help us.
After a recommendation through Facebook, we connected with the Team at Land Polymers and they happily took the plastic bottle caps off our hands and did their magic. This is what happened to them (image left).
“The regrind (pictured) that we produce from the caps goes to one of our customers in the UK who then re-extrude the regrind into products such as refuse bags and DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) for the construction industry. We also have the option of using the material in our own agglomeration process where we blend various polymers together to go into making decking, bollards and other wood alternative products.” – Tim Land, Land Polymers Limited
