Bronte Water Coolers Ltd - Recycling - Polycarbonate Plastic Bottles - Water Bottle Caps

We just couldn’t send these Plastic Bottle Caps to landfill! A few months ago we did a shout-out on our social media accounts to ask our fellow followers and online community to help us in finding a place to recycle them. We had a couple of suggestions given and we’d like to share the story…

Thanks to Facebook follower Mr Terry Manton, we were pointed in the direction of Land Polymers Limited who willingly took our Bottle Caps to be recycled. Ever wondered what Bottle Caps can be made into? Well, we asked them and this is what they said:

“The regrind that we produce from the caps goes to one of our customers in the UK who then re-extrude the regrind into products such as refuse bags and DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) for the construction industry. We also have the option of using the material in our own agglomeration process where we blend various polymers together to go into making decking, bollards and other wood alternative products.” – Tim Land, Land Polymers Limited

We’re super glad the boxes and boxes of bottle caps have been given a new lease of life and aren’t clogging the earth in landfill! Find out what they turned them into in our next blog post
