It is an unfortunate fact that we do break a lot of 19 litre bottles. Once they’ve got more than one hole they are no good for further use and suitable only for recycling. Luckily the plastics businesses are crying out for scrap polycarbonate. Would you believe that it is ten times more valuable than scrap metal at today’s prices?
Here at Bronte Water Coolers we’ve invested in a Heavy Duty Baling machine which means more bottles per pallet and more room in the warehouse. It goes, we are told, to make polycarbonate motorcycle helmets, CD’s and safety glasses.
A free dozen Bronte Water pens to anyone who can tell us something we don’t about its uses, Tweet us at @BronteWater
Why not save your drinking cups in a box or bin liner? Our drivers will pick them up at no charge and bring them back to the warehouse for recycling. They go to a different plastics manufacturer to be made into polypropylene garden furniture.
Low density plastics, ABS, polythene bags and good old cardboard all find their way back into the system via various recycling companies.
Our skip now gets emptied half as often which in turn saves the company money and reduces our waste impact. It’s a win-win all round!
